Breathe regularly and deeply, relax and gaze at the picture as you meditate.

One way to achieve a relaxed meditative state is to imagine that you are in some special place that is known only to you. No one can come to your place unless you invite him or her to. While you are there, you are safe and happy. Your hideaway could be in the forest, or at the seashore or in a favorite room that you make up in your mind. Populate your surroundings with plants and birds and flowers. Visualize your surroundings in your special place very clearly. Use whatever it takes to make you want to go there often. When you meditate, concentrate on creating for yourself all the smells, tastes, feelings, and sounds of your surroundings. Such focus wills still your monkey mind.
